E-MAIL NETIQUETTE
This is something worthwhile sharing with everyone that utilizes e-mail to communicate.
Rule No. 1. Always respect your fellow users - harassing or abusing someone over e-mail is the same as doing so in person. Rule No. 2. Remember that all that reaches the sender is the text - you can't convey facial expression or even tone of voice. What you mean as a sarcastic joke, might get you in trouble Choose your words carefully! Rule No. 3. Anything you send out can come back to haunt you. Don't write anything in e-mail that would be disastrous if it became public knowledge. Rule No. 4. Once you hit the send key, you can't call back your e-mail. Read your message before you send it, and decide if you'll regret it in the morning. Rule No. 5. Chain letters and any letter that asks to be forwarded to ‘as many people as possible’ are wastes of system resources and often strictly forbidden on servers. Do not forward chain letters and the like. Rule No. 6. Finally, remember - despite what it might seem, 43229.22@compunet.com is really a person, just like everybody else on the net. Everybody gets a lot more out of the Internet if it's a friendly and co-operative environment and not one of confrontation and discomfort. Enjoy your E-MAIL
