The committee and their spouses went to Buffelsfontein Game & Nature Reserve for a ‘weekend workshop’ to discuss the running of the Region until the end of 2011. The main topics of discussion were Rally venues for 2011 with the introduction of Intention Slips for all rallies. This has become an important role in the booking of each caravan park. Another important topic was the upcoming 30th Birthday Rally, which will be celebrated in November 2011.
All in all a very productive Workshop, which will definitely benefit the Region. The Committee works extremely well together and everyone is highly motivated to bring positive changes to the Region. To see pictures from the weekend click here |

So … our dinner evening at Schoongezicht has come and gone! And we’ve all gained at least 5kgs. Wow the restaurant has a most comprehensive buffet … beats any hotel hands down! Soup, all kinds of starters, breads, fish galore from snoek to mussels to calamari heads to whatever you can imagine. Salad bar. Then there were the potjies. Ostrich, tongue, springbok, curry to name but a few. Stir fry of your choice, pasta, steaks and ribs made while you wait. Roast beef, pork, chicken, vegetables and not forgetting yummy roast potatoes. Honestly, need I say anymore? Can easily say the selection was endless. A dinner out is never complete until it has ended with something sweet. Well, there was mousse of all colours and flavours, fruit, jelly, caramel, ice-cream (think Clive left some!), sago, malva … and so much more. Waffles, pancakes freshly made while you wait. No, if you haven’t been there before you need to see this for yourself. Besides all that, for our R125pp (plus 10% gratuity) we even had free beers, wine, cold-drinks and fruit juice! The mind boggles. A very big thank you to Mr Entertainment, Colin Blench, for organizing the evening. Was great, sociable and quite ‘ful-filling’ to say the least! Keep up the good work, Colin.
