At a special General Meeting held in the middle of 1981, an Ad Hoc Committee was formed under the leadership of Eddie Ashpole. The region of Good Hope was granted its Charter at the Sixteenth Annual Convention held at the Southern Sun Airport Hotel, Johannesburg on the 24th October 1981. The Inaugural Rally for Good Hope (which was created out of the Mother region of Cape Western) was held at Imhoff Caravan Park during the weekend of November 7 and 8 in 1981. One hundred and seventy families attended this rally. Ten families marshaled for the weekend under the leadership of Derek Miles who was the Chairman of the Cape Western Region. The first General Meeting took place during the same weekend and the following members were elected as committee:

The first official Good Hope Rally was held in January 1982 at Oatlands and 60 families attended. Five years later during March 1987, Disa Region was formed out of Good Hope Region.
