History:

The Disa Region was formed during March 1987 as a result of the Good Hope Region becoming too large.

It was discussed and agreed that boundaries would be set and those members living in a specific area would then have to belong to the new region. The boundaries were Gabriel Road , down into Victoria Road , down Klip Road , along Strandfontien Road as far as Landsdowne Road , up Landsdowne Road and then cutting back along Laws on Road back into Plumstead.

As the ruling stands today, anyone living in any area, may join any region. As one can see Disa region incorporated, Plumstead, Southfield , Some of Grassy Park, Ottery, Wetton and Lansdowne.

The Disa Charter was granted on the 14/03/1987 at the Holiday Inn, Pretoria at the 22 National Convention. An Ad Hoc Committee was formed under the leadership of Maurice Heyne, Don Ormond, Robin Ormond and Robbie Stokel. The first committee meeting of the Disa Region took place at Don and Robin Ormond's home in Plumstead.

A fundraiser was organized by the Good Hope Region in order to finance the new Disa Region. A dinner dance was held and people like Paul Kleu made a commemorative disc with the words " I Helped Disa get Started " Carole Bonorchis was instrumental in the catering department while Don Ormond organized the Band.

Disa's inaugural rally was held at the Ou Skip caravan park during the month of May 1987 where Peter Price of Priclo Caravan Centre donated a trailer to Disa.
